NKE, ONON, DECK – Footwear Update with Intersport Global Category Director

Friday, December 12th, 10:00am EST

Heading into the holidays, we are hosting our next quarterly call on the footwear and sports retail markets with Marcus Albrecht, Global Category Director for Sportswear and Sports Performance for Intersport Group GmbH, a Swiss-based sporting goods retailer with €14B in annual sales and 5,400 locations across 45 countries. Mr. Albrecht oversees the Adult and Children’s Sportswear and Performance category teams, representing about €4.4B of the company’s annual revenues.

During our call, Marcus will provide an update on current trends and forecasts for footwear and apparel brands such as Nike, On, Adidas, Hoka, New Balance, ASICS and Puma. He will also discuss continued challenges for PUMA, ability for Adidas to maintain strength in lifestyle, HOKA store rollouts, and promotional activity, and provide an update on Nike’s turnaround effort including recent social media claims that AF1s have become a ‘dad shoe’, among other topics.

We recently published a NKE Short Idea. The investor view is that Nike is now more structurally challenged than ever before, and that the company doesn’t deserve its multiple. Read the short here.
